	HOSTEL ADMISSION
	Application for hostel admission must be made in a separate form. This may be obtained from the Bursar’s Office on payment of Rs.30/- in person. If required by post, send Rs.50/- by Money Order to the Bursar, Lady Doak College, Madurai – 625 002. Postal Orders will not be accepted. Hostel accommodation is on a first come first served basis with preference given to those coming farthest away from Madurai.

Only women candidates are eligible to apply for admission.

UG Courses

A pass in the Higher Secondary Course or its equivalent as per Madurai Kamaraj University rules.


Bachelor of Arts (B.A) >> History (Spl. in Tourism) >> Psychology and Sociology >> Economics (Spl. in Corporate Economics) (English & Tamil Medium) >> English Literature >> Tamil Literature Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)		Bachelor of Science - B.Sc.(Spl.) >> Mathematics >> Physics >> Chemistry with Cheminformatics >> Botany (Spl. in Industrial Microbiology) >> Zoology (Spl. in Biotechnology)

B.Sc. Computer Applications / B.Sc. Information Technology and Management A pass in higher secondary school examination or its equivalent with Mathematics & Physics as any two subjects . B.B.A. /B. Com. with Computer Applications / B.Com. with Corporate Secretaryship/ Certificate course in Office Management A pass in higher secondary school examination or its equivalent. B.Sc. Mathematics with Computer Applications A pass in higher secondary school examination or its equivalent with Mathematics & Physics as any two subjects		B.Sc. Physics with Computer Applications A pass in higher secondary school examination or its equivalent with Physics & Mathematics as any two subjects B.Sc. Biotechnology A pass in higher secondary school examination or its equivalent with Biology or Botany & Zoology as main subject(s). B.Sc. Phyiscal Education and Sports Science A pass in higher secondary school examination or its equivalent recognized by the University.

PG Courses

Women candidates who have passed B.A. / B.Sc. (Special), B.com. examination are eligible to apply for admission. Those who have appeared for these exams and are awaiting results may also apply.

Students from University other than Madurai Kamaraj University should produce a Provisional Certificate from the respective University within a MONTH from the date of Admission or Eligibility certificate from Madurai Kamaraj University.


M.A. Tamil Students should have scored 60% in U.G. Students from other majors should have 60% in Part I Tamil in U.G. M.A. English 50% in Part III English for Branch XII B.A. Degree holders. 60% in Part II English for other Graduate Degree holders. M.A. History B.A. History and others who have done course in History for two years are eligible to apply.		M.A. Economics B.A. Economics / B.B.E. / B.B.A. /B.Com. graduates and others who have done courses in Economics for two years are eligible to apply. M.Sc. Mathematics B.Sc. Mathematics with first class (above 60% marks), relaxable to 55% in the case of SC/ST in Part III Mathematics. M.Sc. Zoology (Spl. in Biotechnology) Graduate degree in Zoology with 60% aggregate marks.

M.Sc. Information Technology The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in the aggregate in B.Sc. Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Applications / Maths with Computer Applications / Physics with Computer Applications / Commerce with Computer Applications. Prerequiste for other B.Sc. degree must have studied atleast two computer high level languges (C, C++ or Visual Programming). M.Sc. Computer Science Atleast 50% marks in Part III - Major in any of the degrees : B.Sc. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Applications / Maths, Physics (with skills in computer languages such as OOPS concepts and Visual Programming). M.Sc. Physics A pass in B.Sc. Physics with Mathematics as one ancillary subject. M.Sc. Chemistry A pass in B.Sc. Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as ancillary subjects. M.Sc. Microbiology A pass in B.Sc. Botany / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Zoology / Environmental Biology / Chemistry with Biology or Microbiology as an ancillary subject. M.Com. with Computer Applications A pass in B.Com. / B.B.A. / B.B.M. / B.A. Corporate Secretaryship. M.A. Social Work A Pass in any undergraduate degree by a recognised university.		M.Sc. Biotechnology A graduate degree in life sciences. M.Phil. Tamil A pass in M.A. Tamil M.Phil. Economics A pass in M.A. Economics M.Phil. Commerce A pass in M.Com. or M.Com. with Computer Applications or M.F.C. M.Phil. Microbiology A Master's degree in Microbiology / equivalent degree. M.Phil. Zoology A post graduate degree in any discipline related to life sciences (Zoology / Immunology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology) M.Phil. Chemistry A pass in M.Sc. Chemistry M.Phil. English A pass in M.A. English with 55% and above. PGDCA / PGDPR & HRM / PG Diploma in Entrepreneurship Development : A pass in any undergraduate degree of any recognized university. PG Diploma in Event Management A pass in any Bachlor's degree of any recognized university with basic computer proficiency. PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS : Any science degree / B.Sc. Geography / B.E. degree by a recognized university.
